In South Sudan, land is sacred. It is where we build our homes, farm our food, and bury our ancestors. Yet land grabbing and illegal concessions have become rampant, stripping people of their rights.
PEREMO will put land back into the hands of communities.
We will digitize land records, reform the land commission, and protect customary land rights through law. No land deal will be valid unless communities consent. Disputes will be resolved transparently by independent bodies.
We will especially protect the land rights of women and pastoral communities who have historically been marginalized.
Climate pressures and foreign investment deals are increasing land conflict. Our approach balances development with justice and sustainability.
With PEREMO, land will no longer be a tool of oppression. It will be a guarantee of livelihood and dignity.
